Why It Matters

Sherwood is growing and with that growth comes the opportunity to invest in the places that make our city such a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

The Reimagine Sherwood campaign is about extending the city’s current sales tax bond program so we can:

  • Improve Quality of Life – modern facilities, safe parks, and more opportunities for families.

  • Support Growth – ensuring Sherwood is ready for the future.

  • Strengthen Community – creating spaces that bring people together.

And here’s the best part: this bond extension comes at no new tax to residents, it simply continues the same rate we already pay.

Sherwood Animal Services

A brand-new, nearly 11,000 sq. ft. facility on Johnson Drive will double capacity, add modern kennels and cat housing with outdoor access, and include dedicated medical and adoption spaces — all designed to improve care and increase adoptions.

Henson Park Trails

Henson Park’s heavily used 2.4-mile walking path will be re-engineered and widened to safely accommodate both walkers and bikers. These improvements will make the park more inclusive, functional, and enjoyable for everyone. (Estimated cost: $5M)

North Sherwood Park

Planned as both a recreation hub and economic driver, North Sherwood Park will feature tournament-ready volleyball and pickleball courts, playgrounds, trails, and family amenities — creating a true destination for sports and community in North Sherwood. (Estimated cost: $9M)

Sherwood Forest Sports Facility & Event Center

Sherwood Forest will be transformed into a regional destination with renovated ballfields, a state-of-the-art sports complex, and a new multipurpose event center — creating space for tournaments, community gatherings, and family events. (Estimated cost: $35M)

Bond Extension & Financial Responsibility

This campaign isn’t about raising taxes — it’s about being smart with what we already have.

  • No New Taxes: The bond extension simply continues the same sales tax rate Sherwood residents are already paying - no increase, no surprises.

  • Shared Support: Anyone who shops, dines, or spends money in Sherwood is helping fund these improvements - even visitors from other cities or states. Every purchase contributes to projects that make our community stronger.

  • Maximum Impact: Funds are reinvested into parks, public safety, infrastructure, and quality-of-life projects that touch thousands of lives every day.

  • Community First: Every dollar stays in Sherwood, directly improving our city and ensuring continued growth and opportunity for residents and businesses alike.

By voting to extend the bond, we can keep building a safer, stronger, and more vibrant Sherwood — together, for generations to come.

“I am ecstatic about the new event center and sports complex!   So many new families are driving to Cabot and LR to have access to indoor training facilities.  I think it will bring in new amazing businesses to Sherwood.”
